What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Represent the company in a presentable and professional manner always ensuring that actions are taken to make a difference wherever possible
  • Build trust within the business ensuring that everyone is fully committed to delivering the same company standards
  • Ensure company delivery procedures are adhered to across all tasks
  • Be prepared to innovate when opportunities arise/take on more responsibilities
  • Proficient level MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint Effective communicator
  • Able to build and maintain relationships
  • Able to work in a pressurised environment
  • Highly organised individual with an all-round ability, who is willing and able to take ownership of all tasks given
  • Positive, motivated, and enthusiastic with a readiness to help out in any capacity as and when needed

Install and configure relevant software and hardware as appropriate for example: mobile apps, printers, projectors, scanners, and cameras.

Address IT issues by prioritising in response to customer service level agreements.

Administer security access requirements and permissions for stakeholders escalating as necessary for example password resets
Support the rollout of upgrades or new systems or applications.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Advanced Information Communication Techniques Apprenticeship Standard, Network pathway/Support Pathway.

Learners will attend college on a day release basis.

Things to consider

The main working week will be at the head office 1446 London Road, Leigh on Sea. However we also have an office in London where on occasion they can gain experience of visiting clients for onsite visits: Lighthouse IT, Bride Lane, Fleet Street, London, EC4Y 8EQ

About the employer

Apprentices at Lighthouse are promised a IT training package by experienced in-house T1 -T3 engineers giving real world experience of solving IT issues from something basic like a printer issue up to an Exchange to 365 migration project and beyond. All Lighthouse full time staff are shareholders in the business and are rewarded every year the company grows. Formed in 2010 it has grown year on year. It has two offices, one in central London where the fast response engineers are based and the head office in Leigh on Sea has just been renovated into to a purpose-built office space. Lighthouse has at its core the world class RMM software Connectwise which offers 360 control, monitoring and patching supported by the Connectwise University so that apprentices can benefit from certification in what is recognised as one of the best platforms.
