What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Prepare and complete activities to suit each individual child's stage of development and interests
  • Ensure meal times are a time of pleasant social sharing
  • Wash and change children, ensuring hygiene levels maintained
  • Ensure a poorly child is kept calm, warm, and management notified
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with parents/carers
  • Ensure the provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Early Years Practitioner Standard Level 2 will be delivered via monthly Tutor led workshops (a combination of face to face and live, virtual 3 – 2 sessions) self-led study and blending learning and development activities, all, within the workplace.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

After successful completion of your level 2 qualification, it is likely that you will be given the opportunity to remain part of the nursery team and potentially work toward your Level 3 Early Years Educator.

Hucknall Day Nursery, is a family run business, established over 30 years ago, and provides a safe, caring and supportive environment for children from 0 to 4 years of age. With dedicated age based rooms, including the Baby Room, and Pre School Learning Room, it provides dedicated care and learning to meet children’s needs. Hucknall Day Nursery is owned and managed by Laura Woodman, Nursery Manager. It employs 23 staff in total, and cares for 86 children.
