What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Prepare and complete activities to suit each individual child's stage of development and interests
  • Ensure meal times are a time of pleasant social sharing
  • Wash and change children, ensuring hygiene levels maintained
  • Ensure a poorly child is kept calm, warm, and management notified
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with parents/carers
  • Ensure the provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Early Years Practitioner Standard Level 2 will be delivered via monthly Tutor led workshops (a combination of face to face and live, virtual 3 – 2 sessions) self-led study and blending learning and development activities, all, within the workplace.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

After successful completion of your level 2 qualification, it is likely that you will be given the opportunity to remain part of the nursery team and potentially work toward your Level 3 Early Years Educator.
