What will the apprentice be doing?

As an Early Years Apprentice your duties will include:

  • Supporting the daily routine.
  • Creating a fun and nurturing environment allowing children the opportunity to thrive.
  • Setting up play activities.
  • Aid setting and clearing up the nursery.
  • Provide a safe, secure and welcoming environment for the children and their families.
  • Willingness to be involved.
  • Build relationships and liaise closely with parents and other professionals involved within the nursery.
  • Implement and deliver the curriculum.
  • Contribute to planning.
  • Ensure that the children’s needs are met by offering structure, care and stability.
  • Work in partnership with other team members.
  • Respecting the confidentiality and privacy of information.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Attendance will be one day per week at college. You will receive the Early Years Practitioner Level 2 standard apprenticeship qualification, upon successful completion.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Once successfully completed the apprenticeship, there is the potential to progress into full time employment, or into a higher-level apprenticeship – or potentially, both.

About the employer

We are a 45 place Montessori nursery and Forest School. We have children from the age of 3 months to 4 years. We operate 50 weeks of the year between the hours of 8am - 6pm. We have lots of staff benefits & an extremely knowledgeable and passionate team who support & encourage each other.
