What will the apprentice be doing?

At Hill Green Farm Livery we offer a range of livery services as well as having breeding and competition horses. We are a small team offering a friendly and high quality service to all our clients and horses and believe in supporting each other in order to improve and progress.

The position is for a non-ridden apprentice who is looking to step into the equine industry and develop their knowledge and understanding of running and managing a yard of horses and has an open and willing attitude to learn.

The role involves general yard and grooming duties including, but not limited to:

  • Mucking out
  • Turning out and bringing in
  • Rug changes
  • Grooming

You will be fully supported in your apprenticeship by a knowledgeable and experienced team therefore prior experience is not essential.

We are situated in a small village and so the ability to drive or have a method of getting here is vital.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Full training through the Equine Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Opportunity to progress onto a Level 3 Senior Equine Groom apprenticeship or a permanent position.
