What will the apprentice be doing?
Clandon Park offer a well managed stables within a farm environment with horses, rare breed sheep all grazing on a 1000 acre privately owned parkland estate.
The team consists of professional grooms who aim to maintain a relaxed, welcoming and friendly atmosphere which is evident whether a horse owner attending regularly to watch their horse being schooled in one of the outdoor surfaced or grass arenas, a rider who particularly enjoys their horse riding early in the morning, noon or night (the surfaced arena is floodlit) or perhaps someone who wants to enjoy a leisurely afternoon hack. We make it our business to make every visit an enjoyable one and so expect any new staff member to also buy into our ethos and values.
We offer flexible and bespoke livery packages with a structured and caring environment with exclusive facilities that are unlike other livery stables and, as such, there is a bit of a waiting list!
Duties to include but not limited to:
- Mucking out
- Turning out and bringing in
- looking after all aspects of the yard and horses in our care
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 2 Equine Groom Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training, along with maths and English functional skills if required.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Possibility of Level 3 Senior Groom Apprenticeship on completion of Level 2 or a full time position.
