What will the apprentice be doing?

Easton Farm is a busy, friendly yard with lots of opportunities to learn and develop. They are looking for someone who would like to learn, is reliable, has lots of energy and who is trustworthy. Attitude is very important!

You will need prior experience with horses and caring for them.

Duties will include:

  • Mucking out
  • Turning out / bringing in
  • Tack cleaning
  • Tacking up
  • Feeding
  • Filling hay nets
  • Clipping / pulling / plaiting / trimming if possible
  • Bathing
  • Rug changing
  • Riding
  • First aid
  • Exercising horses from the ground (lunging, long reining, pessoa training etc.)
  • Holding for vet / farrier / dentist

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training, along with maths and English functional skills if required.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Possibility of progression to the level 3 Senior Equine Groom for the right candidate.
