What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Delivering fun, inclusive and engaging activities that help the community change their behaviour, adopt and keep to a physical active lifestyle
  • Working with youth workers, police and community safety agencies to make neighbourhoods safer and work alongside health workers to make residents fitter and healthier
  • General administration, bookings and reception duties in the centre including gym inductions and programmes when competent

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?


  • Apprentice Community Activator Coach and Gym Instructor Level 2
  • Training will be based at Watton Sports Centre, Dereham Rd Watton IP25 6EZ
  • 30 hours per week including 6 hours off the job training guided by the training provider 

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • To study higher education in health and social care
  • Coaching /teaching
  • Full time position at the centre as Sports/community development officer

About the employer

We are a charity that delivers Sports and a Social club to the community. We have a large site with outdoor and indoor facilities including a gym, badminton/ squash courts and sports hall. In addition, we cater for small and large events at the centre and offer a community hub for social and business.
