What will the apprentice be doing?

A large construction company working on projects in the Barking and Dagenham area is looking to employ an apprentice as an office administrator. The successful candidate will complete the Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship.

The role of the business administrator will be to:

  • Maintain the project filing system
  • Prepare documents for storage/archiving
  • Ordering and costings
  • Uploading of all new project information to the relevant systems
  • Aid in preparation of contract folders (including printing)
  • Managing the data input and ensuring it up to date and accurate
  • Assisting the Estimators with issuing of information
  • Quality checking of all documents at the first stage of the workflows for compliance
  • Maintaining site record sheets
  • Assisting to arrange site visitors with visiting parties from educationla establishments
  • Assisting with communications with local community
  • Assisting with payroll
  • Carrying out reception duties as required including answering the telephone, and meeting and greeting visitors
  • Taking messages
  • Arranging meetings
  • Organising manager's diaries

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Training will be by means of regular online sessions and successful completion of the apprenticeship will result in a level 3 Business Administration qualification.

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, there is opportunity to move into full-time employment.
