What will the apprentice be doing?
- Keep records of children’s development and learning journey.
- Preparation and completion of activities to suit the needs of each child.
- Ensure that meal times are a time of pleasant social sharing.
- Washing and changing children as required.
- Ensuring good standards of safety, hygiene, and cleanliness.
- Liaise with and support parents and family members.
- Attend out-of-hours working activities i.e. training, staff meetings, parent’s evening, etc.
- Be prepared to help where needed, including undertaking domestic jobs within the nursery.
- Work alongside the manager and staff to ensure the nursery’s philosophy is fulfilled.
- Recording accidents in the accident book.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Apprentices will be required to attend college at least x1 day per week either at Uxbridge, Harrow or Hayes Campus completing necessary mandatory training and units associated with the apprenticeship.
The apprentice will be required to complete:
- Work towards gaining a full Level 3 Early Years Practitioner qualification.
- First Aid qualification
- Employment Rights and Responsibilities.
- Skills, Knowledge, and Behaviours.
- Standard and End Point Assessment.
- Functional Skills in English, maths, and ICT (if required).
Other training will be provided by the employer as required to enable the fulfilment of the job role.
