What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Encouraging learning and development, through play and teaching 
  • Creating a secure environment, using imagination to help children to learn
  • Working with parents to support their children
  • Enabling children to build their literacy, language, and numeracy skills
  • Helping children who need extra support to complete tasks
  • Understanding the Safeguarding and Behaviour Policy
  • Ability to conduct yourself professionally at all times whilst working in schools 

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The apprentice standard consists of core knowledge, skills and behaviours relevant to the job role.

Prior to completion, the apprentice will undertake an End Point Assessment (EPA).

Functional Skills, maths and English, are an integral to completion of the apprenticeship. The apprentice will achieve these unless achieved previously.

Along with the apprenticeship standard, the apprentice will also achieve a Level 3 Diploma for the Children & Young People's Workforce (Early Years Educator) (RQF) and a First Aid qualification.
