This would be a permanent position working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. Exact working hours are agreed with your Line Manager, however an example of standard hours are 09:00am – 17:30pm with one hour for lunch.

What will the apprentice be doing?
As a civil engineering apprentice in our Highways team, you will be supporting your team on local and national projects. Your tasks could include; 2D drawings and 3D modelling using software such as AutoCAD that you will be trained in the use of, supporting work on the design of local and national highways projects, and working with our design teams to put together information and reports for the clients.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will attend Liverpool John Moores University to study a Civil Engineering degree apprenticeship and gain a BEng, as well completing your End Point Assessment (and your Incorporated Engineer status) with the Institution of Civil Engineers. You will also be enrolled onto a bespoke internal development programme to support you to attain the knowledge, skills and behaviour that will help you successfully achieve your apprenticeship, and suppport your career in civil engineering
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
As this is a permanent position, after gaining your degree, WSP will continue to be committed to your learning and development throughout your career with us. You will have the opportunity to work towards gaining Chartered status with your chosen institution, as well as the opportunity to pursue your further study and training goals.
