What will the apprentice be doing?
Joining the Mimtec team as a Mechanical Engineering Apprentice, your role will be focused on undertaking the manufacturing processes on site. As part of your programme, you will learn how to:
- Interpret and follow specifications
- Follow laid down procedures and methods
- Become a skilled machine operator working thermoforming machines
- Solve production problems
- Operate a variety of equipment including plc controlled thermoforming machines and other related equipment
- Maintain good housekeeping standards
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
As an Engineering Apprentice this programme forms part of your companies succession planning for the future.
You will be trained, supported and monitored throughout the process. During this engineering apprenticeship you will be required to attend PETA’s Havant facility for off-the-job training. This will be 13 months of day release (1 day a week) when you will complete your skills training. You will learn how to: work safely, use technical information, produce components using hand tools. You will also learn about mechanical and electrical equipment as well as how to assemble and test electronic circuits.
On successful completion you will have achieved the level 2 engineering operative apprenticeship standard.
All apprentices undertaking this apprenticeship must achieve: Mandatory qualifications: Diploma in engineering operations (skills) Ofqual regulated Level of qualification: 2 Certificate or Diploma in engineering operations (knowledge) Ofqual regulated Level of qualification: 2.
