To be part of and support the project management community within Alstom who are responsible for end to end delivery of a project or subset of a project dependent on the complexity and criticality to the business. The project management team work with a cross-disciplinary team to deliver the project to time, cost and quality requirements. What will the apprentice be doing?

Developing and documenting components of projects as required by the Project Team

  • Learn the project management principles to drive project / program execution, to maximize the results with respect to cash and margin whilst understanding delivery of projects on time, in conformity with the contract / program charter according to customer expectations and the requirements on EHS
  • Understand the value to seek additional opportunities in the frame of the contract / program charter with awareness to ensure Alstom Transport legal and contractual rights are protected
  • Cost estimating, analysis and control activities
  • Scheduling development, maintenance and monitoring
  • Risk, assumptions, issues, dependencies and opportunities management
  • Earned value management analysis and control activities
  • Development of workforce planning and staffing plans
  • Providing data to support business cases, strategic plans, customer presentations
  • Gaining an overview from PM's of bid evaluation 

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will complete the Level 6 Project Management degree apprenticeship with York St John's University. You will attend workshops at the Barbican campus.
