What will the apprentice be doing?

  • To provide a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment, both indoors and outdoors at all times.
  • To deliver an appropriate play based Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
    that enables children to make individual progress.
  • To understand and work to preschool policies and procedures
  • To plan activities, which ensure each child, is working towards the early learning outcomes.
  • To be a key person.
  • To ensure records are properly maintained, e.g. daily attendance register, accident and incident book, risk assessments

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 3 Apprenticeship – Early Years Educator
    • Training to be delivered at Northampton College Booth Lane Campus NN3 3RF - 1 Day a week.
  • A first aid qualification in line with the requirements of the EYFS Framework

About the employer

Our Pre-School is run by a team of Early Years Practitioners, who are all very experienced and have all the relevant childcare qualifications. We have one main room with separate cloakroom and toilet facilities and a smaller room for Language activities. Talking and listening in small group, learning new words, sound discrimination, reading and sharing books. Outside we have an enclosed play area for our sole use which is secured at all times. There is a small seating area at the back used for story and music activities. With permission we also have the use of the larger grassed area for the children to use for larger games and activities.
