What will the apprentice be doing?
During the week you will be conducting administrative tasks, including:
- Answer and return telephone calls on a daily basis
- Respond to course enquiries by email and letter on a daily basis
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail
- Assist in the management of advertising campaigns
- Compile mailing lists for mail-marketing campaigns
- Keep database up to date on a daily basis
- Book and take payment for learners over the phone by credit or debit card
- Keep records of all Learners Present/Past
- Attend all staff meetings
- Attend training as and when required
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times
- Keep the office clean and tidy at all times
- Take care of the recycling and dispose of rubbish on a regular basis
- Run errands around the local area
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Training will be provided to achieve the following qualifications:
- Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard
- Functional Skills Level 2 in maths and English (if required)
Training will take place weekly, on a half day per week release basis, at Darlington Borough Council Learning & Skills training centre (DL1 5AJ). The remaining half day training will be conducted over the remainder of the week in the workplace or at home. Here you will develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours to ensure these exceed the minimum requirements for the Business Administrator Level 3 apprenticeship standards.
