What will the apprentice be doing?
As an apprentice in our Development Planning service line, you will be working with a team of experts to develop, implement and monitor sustainable transport and infrastructure plans for a wide range of developments for both private and public sector clients, from pre-feasibility through to operation. You will support with the design and assessment of a range of developments/schemes, helping to identify transport strategies and infrastructure requirements to facilitate development. This will involve assisting in the preparation of drawings, reports and models whilst liaising with internal colleagues and our client teams.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will attend Aston University to study Transport Planner degree apprenticeship and gain a level 6 BSc(Hons) qualification, as well as completing your End Point Assessment. You will also be enroled onto a bespoke internal development programme to help you to attain the knowledge, skills and behaviours to successfully achieve your apprenticeship, and support your career in Transport Planning.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
As this is a permanent position, after gaining your degree, WSP will continue to be committed to your learning and development throughout your career with us. You will have the opportunity to work towards gaining Chartered status with your chosen institution, as well as the opportunity to pursue your further study and training goals.
