Looking for a full -time Nursery apprentice to work in our pre-school Room, to work as part of a team in order to provide a supportive environment, so all individual children can play, develop and learn.

We are a living wage employer and have annual pay reviews. Excellent holiday entitlement including standard 28 days holiday, an extra 3 days for Christmas closure, 2 additional University closure days and extra annual leave for long service.

Working week
40 hours per week between 8.30am and 5.30pm. One half day per week and a rota given a week in advance. Have to attend 1 day per week to college which would be at our Filton Campus.

What will the apprentice be doing?
We are looking for someone who will:
- Provide the children with a safe, secure, and home like environment.
- Operate a key person system and liaise with parents, carers, and senior staff.
- Plan, organise and implement a programme of activities to meet the needs of this age group and each individual child's needs and interests.
- Work as part of a highly motivated and professional team.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 3 Early Years Educator standard.
Apprentices must successfully complete a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification. Please refer to the DfE list of approved EYE qualifications:

Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking their end point assessment. For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement, the apprenticeships English and maths minimum requirements are Entry Level 3, and the British Sign Language qualification is an alternative to English qualifications for apprentices for whom this is their primary language.
Apprentices must successfully complete a paediatric first aid qualification in line with the requirements of the EYFS Framework (Annex A): Early years foundation stage (EYFS) statutory framework - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk).
You will be required to complete Functional Skills mathematics and English (where applicable), Employment Rights and Responsibilities and British Values.
Location: South Gloucestershire and Stroud College - Filton Campus.
Duration: 18-24 months.
