What will the apprentice be doing?

 The apprentice will be taught how to fabricate steel by a much-respected family run company in the Coventry area
 To achieve this the apprentice will be taught how to work with engineering drawings and specifications with standard measuring equipment.
 He or she will be taught how weld in MIG, TIG and how to fabricate sheet metal.
 In the course of his or her apprenticeship he/she will be taught best practice by experienced fabricator welders.

 Level 2 Technical certificate in Fabrication & Welding
 Level 2 Performing Engineering Operations (Workshop) x 2

 End Point Assessment
Delivery model is Part time in years 1 & 2

Year 1 September 2023 – July 2024

2 days attendance per week for 36 weeks at WCG to study
towards the Technical Certificate and Foundation Competencies

Year 2 September 2024– July 2025

1 day Working towards end point assessment in company.
Additional classes to support end point assessment.
On successful completion of all of the above, the end point assessment can be undertaken.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

The opportunity will be there to go on the Level 3 Advanced programme on completion of the Level 2 to a satisfactory level

Things to consider

The apprentice will be asked to go onto customers sites to install fabrications, once qualified to do so. You will be expected to progress onto a Level 3 Apprenticeship on completion of the Level 2
