What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Welcoming of parents, children, and visitors
  • Caring for all children
  • Setting up activities and supporting children’s involvement in
    activities
  • Assisting children at meal and snack times
  • Supporting children at nap times
  • Following all nursery policies and procedures including Safeguarding of the setting and Health and Safety of the
    children's environment
  • Some cleaning duties will also be involved

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Early Years Practitioner, Level 2

Apprentices who have not achieved the equivalent of level 2
qualifications in maths and English, will need to achieve level 1
functional skills in these and work towards level 2 functional skills.

Apprentices will be allocated a Trainer Assessor and training will be
planned and delivered in conjunction with the employer to meet
the individual needs of the apprentice.

The apprentice will spend 20% of their working hours in off the job
activities and training.

On the job and off the job training will be delivered in the
workplace.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Potential opportunity for ongoing permanent paid employment
and/or progression to the Level 3 Early Years Educator
Apprenticeship.

The Learning Tree 2 is a converted house situated on two floors. The nursery has been established since 2000 and the nursery team strive create a warm and homely environment. The children at nursery are in separate age groups, this allows the children to access a wide range of equipment and resources that are age and stage appropriate for their development.
