This would be a permanent position working Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. Exact working hours are agreed with your Line Manager, however an example of standard hours are 09:00am – 17:30pm with one hour for lunch.

What will the apprentice be doing?
As a civil engineering Apprentice in our Local Government, Bridges team one day can be completely different to the next. You will have the opportunity to learn new skills using specialist software suited to the area of the business you are working in. You may be involved with taking concepts and ideas from architects or engineers and creating software drawings and designs. Where practical, you’ll get the opportunity to visit site and see the projects you’ve been working on, coming to life
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will attend Exeter College to study a Civil Engineering apprenticeship and gain a Level 4 qualification, equivalent to higher national certificate (HNC). As well as completing your End Point Assessment (and your Engineering Technician status) with the Institution of Civil Engineers. You will also be enrolled onto a bespoke internal development programme to help you to attain the knowledge, skills and behaviours to successfully achieve your apprenticeship, and support your career in Civil Engineering.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
As this is a permanent position, after gaining your qualification, WSP will continue to be committed to your learning and development throughout your career with us. You will have the opportunity to pursue your further study and training goals and go onto work towards gaining professional registration with your chosen institution.
