What will the apprentice be doing?

Daily duties:

  • Meeting with training providers and completing assignments on time.
  • To attend team meetings and participate in sharing ideas.
  • Under supervision, provide all aspects of care for children including washing, changing and feeding.
  • To assist with meeting the personal and emotional needs of individual children.
  • To provide adult interaction with children in the nursery.
  • To attend all training relevant to the role and deemed appropriate.
  • Read, understand and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role.
  • Contribute to good standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness in the nursery.
  • To develop and maintain strong partnerships and communications with parents/carers.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard for Early Years Educator.
  • Level 3 Diploma for Early Years Educator.
  • Apprentices must successfully complete the Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid. (RQF) or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF) or complete a first aid course delivered by one of the following types of organisations as per the EYFS requirements.
  • Training will be delivered in the workplace.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, there is a full time post available.
