Monday to Friday shifts can range from 8am-6pm, this will be discussed at interview. Attend college 1 day a week for training, this will be at our Filton Campus attend occasional meetings may be after hours.

What will the apprentice be doing?
Main duties:
- Working with children, building knowledge of the EYFS and eventually take responsibility for your own small group of key children.
- Recording observations and carrying out reports if needed.
- Work alongside and in collaboration with colleagues and senior members of staff ensure high quality provision for all children.
- Undertake certain domestic jobs in addition to ensuring high standards of everyday health and safety that might include preparation of afternoon tea and cleaning the kitchen and dining equipment after mealtimes.
- Implement planned and non-planned activities to develop children's emotional, physical, social and intellectual capabilities.
- Play with children in such a way that extends their learning personally, socially, morally, and intellectually, paying particular regards to their communication skills.
- Maintain the safety and security of children within the childcare setting and on outings without fail and at all times.
- Support the protection of children from abuse; be vigilant for signs of abuse and record any concerns whilst ensuring your room leader and senior staff members are aware of your concerns and your documentation of them.
- Document and share your concerns without delay.
- Your concerns may lay within the setting.
- Applicant will be expected to provide meaningful learning experiences for children, have a natural ability to extend and adapt play in the moment to support their interests.
- Applicants will have opportunity to work alongside highly experienced staff who are supporting children with SEN, EAL as well the other children who also have their needs supported.
- They will need to enjoy working with all ages and be able to cope with the pressures and stresses of the role.
- As a nursery we like to support our staff into new and roles and provide them with the guidance and support they need to do this.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Qualifications:
Apprentices must successfully complete a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification.
Apprentices must successfully complete a first aid qualification in line with the requirements of the EYFS Framework.
You will be required to complete Functional Skills mathematics and English (where applicable).
Employment Rights and Responsibilities and British Values.
Location: South Gloucestershire and Stroud College -Filton Campus.
Duration: 18 months.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Permanent full-time position within the nursery on completion of apprenticeship.
