What will the apprentice be doing?
DHL Global Forwarding are now recruiting for a Business Administrator Level 3 apprentice to join their busy Hayes branch. The successful candidate will gain an understanding of how Global freight works whilst developing essential office-based skills, earning a wage and gaining a recognised level 3 qualification.
To begin your journey within one of the world’s biggest organisations, you will assist the team with administrative duties, including obtaining relevant shipping documentation needed for clearance.
- Coordinate customs entries for the shipment of goods.
- Ensure entries are compliant in line with HRMC guidelines.
- Assist the team with administrative duties

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 3 business administration apprenticeship standard.
- On-the-job training delivered by the employer.
- Allocation of an apprenticeship delivery coach who will carry out:
- Regular training.
- Assessment and support visits to ensure you acquire new learning, knowledge skills and behaviours in order to progress and develop
- Identify, track and support 20% off the job training activities.
- Quarterly formal progress review meetings; identifying learning achievements and next steps.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Following the completion of the two year apprenticeship there is the potential opportunity of a permanent position within DHL Global Forwarding subject to vacancy, most qualified personnel become customs clerks within a freight forwarding customs team.
A career in logistics can support you to progress into many areas, just to name a few job titles; ‘Senior freight forwarder’, ‘senior Export Administrator’, ‘Shipping Manager’ or ‘Customs Supervisor’
