What will the apprentice be doing?

The role will involve assisting our current teams to manage projects from an initial enquiry through to completion. The ideal candidate will be an energetic and positive person who is flexible and can undertake various roles to strict deadlines. Candidates should have good written, computer and communication skills, and must always uphold the principles of the business.

Working duties will include:

  • Taking and logging initial enquires.
  • Helping to formulate quotations, including obtaining prices for equipment and materials.
  • Generation of orders.
  • Designing and producing CAD drawings.
  • Production and stock purchasing.
  • Planning job schedules.
  • Liaising with customers.
  • Liaising between the sales and workshop teams.
  • Gathering technical information.
  • Filing or sending documents to customers.
  • A driving licence is preferable but not essential.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

We will support and coach the apprentice through the apprenticeship standard. We will carry out both curriculum and pastoral care. We will carry out the skills development workshop days off site. We will oversee the teaching and learning around the knowledge, behaviours and skills elements of the qualifications, outlined below. We will manage the apprentice’s OneFile account ensuring targets, milestones and deadlines are achieved.

Mode of delivery:

To attend Keighley College on a 2 day per week basis in year 1 (minimum) and on a day release basis in years 2 & 3 over the 42 months alongside observations and assessments carried out in the work place. An assessor will visit the place of work every 6-8 weeks.

Mandatory Qualifications to be achieved throughout the apprenticeship.

  • EAL Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Skills 10 units).
  • EAL Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.

Pathway: Technical Support

  • BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge).
  • Functional Skills (If required).

Maths, English at level 2 - On line resources – workbooks. Attending weekly workshops.

There will be a mandatory three-part holistic end-point assessment starting no earlier than three months before the planned end of programme.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Potential full time job upon completion of the apprenticeship.
