What will the apprentice be doing?

An average week at Outspoken consists of ensuring that both schools and instructors are provided with the necessary information to plan and run Bikeability courses across the country. This ranges from answering school queries regarding dates and times down to making sure instructors know the location, type of course and number of pupils attending.

 

Daily tasks include answering emails and phone calls from instructors and school administrators, entering course information into a shared database to maintain accurate statistics, and making sure that schools have provided the necessary information for us to plan for their courses.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The apprentice would be assigned an assessor through the College, who would typically come out to visit in the workplace to assess workplace competence. Day release for workshop attendance/ online is once a month at Cambridge campus.

We are a growing business and opportunities may arise for career progression at the end of the apprenticeship. Our last two apprentices were offered permanent roles at the end of their apprenticeship thanks to their performance and the growth of the company.

We run courses and initiatives throughout the country but our inspiration comes from where we started - in Cambridge, the UK’s city of cycling. We have a dedicated team who make it their mission to show others how much (fun!) can be done on a bike. Outspoken Training employs 7 full-time staff based at the office with a further 120 instructors based from their own homes who work in 900+ schools throughout our region. The instructors come in regularly for training courses and staff catch ups.
