What will the apprentice be doing?

We’re more than just a corporate culture - and this is more than just a job. On a daily basis, you can expect to be:

  • Reviewing your allocated cases and make effective underwriting decisions
  • Ensuring the delivery of good customer outcomes by achieving personal targets
  • Supporting cases and collaborating with your team to deliver an outstanding service to the broker/client
  • Providing support on a portfolio of accounts to maximise profitable revenue potential
  • Creating business development plans that identify new business opportunities
  • Implementing marketing activities and business development initiatives
  • Supporting technical audits and peer review processes

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

As careers go, Insurance Underwriting is amazingly satisfying and by joining our programme you will have the chance to experience it for yourself. We’ll support you to achieve the level 3 Insurance Practitioner qualification which includes the Certificate in Insurance (Cert CII) from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) as well as giving you access to excellent benefits as part of your career development, including:

  • Facilitated Learning and Development workshops plus guest speaker sessions

Your programme is delivered through blended learning with virtual and in-person workshops. You will be given 6 hours per week to study towards your programme and qualifications.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

You will be a permanant employee from day one at RSA, so career options are in abundance. You could choose a technical Underwriting path, move into sales and business development, quality and governance, or move through a leadership pathway. All RSA opportunities are in scope.
