What will the apprentice be doing?
The successful candidate for the post must be an effective team player and be able to demonstrate the ability to deal with sometimes difficult situations, and cope well under pressure. Prior customer service experience would be advantageous.
This role is not just about booking appointments for patients, but involves a whole range of administrative tasks that requires someone with initiative to work on their own and work accurately under pressure.
You will be working with our clinical system and other software packages, so excellent computer skills are essential to this role.
Key requirements also include:
· Be a positive role model in terms of dress, punctuality and attendance.
· Have the ability to organise and prioritise your own workload whilst working alone or as part of a team.
· Follow procedures including the ability to handle confidential information.
· Provide telephone assistance with all incoming calls.
· Screen calls and book appointments.
· Request repeated prescriptions and support GP.
· Assist and support with the day-to-day tasks.
· Inputting and/or updating details accordingly onto in-house systems.
· Confidently communicate with business partners and/work by either telephone or via email.
Liaising with GP Partners and Practice Nurses to ensure the best patient care
· Upkeep our database.
· Provide holiday and sickness cover in the department as and when required.
· Complete administration duties.
