What will the apprentice be doing?
The apprentice will lean all aspects of the job from:
- Job evaluation
- Programming
- Setting machines
- Inspection of parts
- Sub con aspects including coatings and costings
The end result will be a well-rounded engineer that can run several machines and teach operators on methods and practise.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- At the end of your apprenticeship, the candidate will have established a good understanding of the knowledge, skills and behaviours of the Level 3 Machinist Engineering Apprenticeship Standard
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Successful completion of the apprenticeship can lead to running their own machine cell with operators reporting in to them, further development on programming skills, supervisor roles etc
