What will the apprentice be doing?
Exciting opportunity to join a company involved in creating innovative digital experiences that bring ideas and stories to life through audio and visual effects
Clients include heritage sites, retail & main contractors
You will be involved with configuration & support of IP networks and systems, programming, fault finding and resolution whilst also being responsible for installation of equipment including cables
The role is a mix of being office and site based, it's part practical and can be physical, the role involves installing equipment to various specifications that can range in height etc. full training i.e. PASMA training and other H&S requirements provided
Projects operate on a national basis you will be working away and sometimes up to a week - accommodation and food is paid for, in addition and if required car mileage too.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Installation & Termination of cables
- Installation & commissioning of Screens, Projectors, Control Systems, Kiosks, Amplifiers, Matrixes and general audio-visual systems
- System programming
- Fault Finding & resolution
- Rack Building & dressing
- Configuration & support of IP networks & systems
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- The apprenticeship contains the following three core key modules which seek to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be a successful Information Communications Technician
- The final module is a Pathway module to provide specialist career track skills and knowledge depending on which track was chosen at the outset from the 3 options available
- Computer Fundamentals & Security Gain an understanding of the core concepts in computing including hardware, software, security and troubleshooting
- Introduction to Networking & Cloud Services An introduction to the fundamental cloud concepts of networking and cloud computing, including networking modules, devices and protocols
- Communication in Support Support in IT requires good communications skills
- Develop your communications skills by exploring the best practices of support
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Ongoing Training and Support Associated H&S i.e PASMA and on-site card
