What will the apprentice be doing?
You will be:
- Working on innovative and exciting projects,
- Working within IPTs (Integrated Project Teams).
- Using cutting edge machines such as Spectroscopy and AOI (Automatic Optical Inspection).
- Looking into process development and production easement taking into consideration DFX (Design for Manufacturing).
- Encouraged to visit other sides and get involved with Apprentice lead activities.
- Responsible for planning and completing work independently. With time management a key skill.
- Working using the principles of Lean and 6 Sigma.
- Ensuring all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental procedures are met.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will complete the Engineering Technician - Technical Support Technician (ST0457) Apprenticeship Standard and attend college.
After a period of foundation skills and technical knowledge development all apprentices will be required to achieve the following qualifications:
- Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
After a further period of skills and technical knowledge development all apprentices will be required to achieve the following qualifications:
- Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) – Technical Support
- Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship you may be offered a permanent position in the Manufacturing Department
