    £5 - £10 per hour dependent on age and ability, plus a company bonus scheme.

  • Working week

    Year 1 at HWGTA: Monday - Thursday between 8.30am - 4.30pm and Friday 8.30am - 3.15pm. In company you will be working a 39 hour week.

What will the apprentice be doing?

The successful candidate will be trained in the following areas:

  • Programming
  • Work holding

  • Learning all round best practice methods and strategies
  • ISO 9001 Quality System

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Year 1: To be based in the Worcester Group Training centre, one day in the classroom working through a Development Knowledge qualification. Four days in the workshop working through Bench fitting, Turning, Milling, CNC Machining, CAD and Welding.

Year 2: Four days per week in company, one day at the centre to continue the Development Knowledge. In company you will work in rotation of the company to understand how the company works.
  
Year 3 - 4 :Fulltime in company - Training on manual machines, CNC lathes, CNC mills, CNC wire EDM, CMM inspection, Goods in/out, ISO 9001 Quality System and an overview of office functions, in addition to working through a Development Competence qualification, as well as getting ready for your End Point Assessment.
