What will the apprentice be doing?

You will:

  • Undertake a series of rotational placements – covering all aspects of the manufacturing and the supply chain, eg mechanical assembly, electromechanical assembly, environmental facility, master production scheduling and industrial engineering.
  • Spend time in some parts of the business learning the fundamentals & interfaces between Business Function and Manufacturing and the Supply Chain. 
  • After each placement you will return to the Logistics function, learning key aspects of the differing Logistics roles and Inventory management, identifying and resolving problems as they occur, within basic operating procedures.
  • Experience how we manage the flow of material through our supply chain to our customers both domestic and overseas, complying with complex export legislation across international borders and how we ensure the process is as efficient as possible.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will complete the Supply Chain Warehouse Operative (ST0259) Apprenticeship Standard and attend college one day a week. 

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship you may be offered a permanent position in the Logistics/Manufacturing Supply Chain Department.
