What will the apprentice be doing?
As a Nursery apprentice you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in childcare for children age 0-5. You will complete your apprentice training in Early Years, and alongside the experience gained, it will provide you the skills, abilities and competencies required to progress into a qualified educator role.
Our staff are helpful, friendly, open and curious. We operate from a community centre, close to Tufnell Park, Kentish Town and Gospel Oak. Our operating hours are 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
A typical day involves receiving children and speaking with parents, engaging children in play, circle time, group play or in the garden, supporting them at mealtimes and sleep times; modelling respectful and friendly behaviour, teach them about the world through play, singing, dancing, theatre etc.
You will be working towards your qualification and must ensure that you are able to keep up with the requirements of your studies and have a good attendance record.
You will;
Work in partnership with parents and colleagues and ensure children’s safeguarding needs are being met at all times
Be calm and collected with a love for working with children
Have high expectations of children including a commitment to ensuring that they can achieve their full educational potential
Establishing fair, respectful, trusting, supportive and constructive relationships with children, their parents, peers and management team
Warm and caring personality – friendly and approachable for families
Enthusiastic, innovative, energetic and able to motivate others
Support teaching staff in weekly planning
Be happy, curious and engaging with children, read stories, sing songs, play
Observe children’s development and record their progress across the areas of Early Years Curriculum
Support children during mealtimes and sleeping times
Form strong relationships with children, parents and colleagues

£17,680 annual salary (if you study for NVQ level 3); £15,600 per annum (if you study for NVQ level 2)

This vacancy is for the duration of the Apprenticeship with the possibility of fulltime employment within The Spanish Nursery upon the successful completion of the apprenticeship programme.
