What will the apprentice be doing?

In addition to gaining product knowledge, the apprentice will gain hands on experience in the following areas:

  • Existing customer merchandising and account management
  • Targeting new business opportunities, negotiation of terms and closing deals
  • Customer Service, problem solving and technical advice
  • Product marketing and PR
  • Attending exhibitions, meeting our customers: travel in the UK and ultimately abroad
  • Organising sales teams, sales promotions and report writing
  • Business Administration, pricing and margins
  • IT and online sales
  • New product development

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The apprenticeship training is delivered 100% iun the workplace.

This training will teach you the knowledge, skills and behaviours set out in the Retail Team Leader Level 3 standard. On completion the apprentice will receive Retail Team Leader qualification. Functional Skills in Maths and English may also be required depending on current level.

You MUST be prepared to commit to your work and training for the duration of the apprenticeship. You will be required to have a telephone interview with Yeovil College prior to your application being passed on.
