What will the apprentice be doing?

Daily duties:

  • Climbing to heights and conducting work with proper safety restraints.
  • Loading and unloading of material across the site. This will involve manual handling of heavy and/or awkward objects.
  • Performing setup and clean-up tasks at job site.
  • Provide support as needed for speciality workers.
  • Comply with responsibilities as laid down in company health & safety policy and as explained in site health and safety rules/procedures.
  • At all times comply with company policies, procedures, and instructions.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 2 Roofing Apprenticeship Standard.
  • This will be delivered through block release Monday - Thursday. Dates TBC.

Things to consider

Working at height, in sometimes difficult working conditions. The candidate must be 18 years or over due to company policy. Please note block release will take place at Derwentside College in Consett, County Durham.
