What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Plan and implement stimulating and inclusive activities
  • Encourage all aspects of communication development
  • Support all aspects of children’s health, safety and wellbeing at all times
  • Maintain accurate registers and children’s development records
  • Build effective relationships with parents, children and work colleagues

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will be working towards your early years practitioner level 2 qualification alongside any functional skills that may be required. This will involve attending classes at Bolton College 1 day a month with additional time for training given in the workplace.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Progression on to higher level apprenticeships and full-time positions are available for the right candidates.

About the employer

Highview Kindergarten is registered with OFSTED for children from the age of birth to 5 years and undergo regular inspections. The Kindergarten was opened 20 years ago. Alex Westrup, the Area Manager, works closely with Sacha Seabrook, Operations Manager, to oversee the running of the nursery. Julie Fry, the Manager, is responsible for the day to day care, together and with her team, they pride themselves on consistently maintaining a high standard of childcare with emphasis on education
