This is a great opportunity to work for an engineering company that has been established for over 50 years and specialises in manufacturing quality hydraulic cylinders. You will attend college one day a week to study for your engineering technician apprenticeship as well as receiving training and mentoring within the workplace which will involve learning all aspects of CNC machining including operating CNC machines and setting CNC machines.

What will the apprentice be doing?
You will work in a busy CNC machine shop, learning all aspects of CNC machining, including:
- Understanding CAD and mechanical drawings
- Using a variety of measuring equipment
- Operating CNC machines
- Setting CNC machines
- General housekeeping duties
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will receive on the job training and guidance from your employer and will also attend Sandwell College 1 day per week to achieve your Level 3 Engineering Technician qualifications.
After a period of foundation skills and technical knowledge development all apprentices will be required to achieve the following qualifications:
- An employer approved Level 2 Foundation Competence qualification
- An employer approved Level 3 Development Competence qualification
- An employer approved Level 3 Development Technical Knowledge qualification
- Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking end point assessment
