What will the apprentice be doing?

We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to begin a career in Carpentry and Joinery within a local business that is involved in the construction and refurbishment of domestic and commercial buildings and is involved in working for one of the region’s leading developers.

The successful candidate will be involved with:

  • 1st fix (Structural) work including studwork, foundation work, roofing work, floor joists, staircases, fascia’s, soffits and door frames
  • 2nd fix (internal/finishing) work including floor boards, architraves, doors, windows, kitchen fitting and skirting boards
  • Reading scale drawings and using translating them to the project.
  • General assistance on the construction projects

The role will involve working on large sites as part of the team supporting the development.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Alongside the practical training, you will also work towards a Level 3 Advanced Carpentry and Joinery standard:

  • Training will be on a day release basis

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

There is opportunity to progress into full time work after successful completion of the Apprenticeship.
