What will the apprentice be doing?

As an apprentice within our engineering department you will receive good all-round training in mechanical engineering practice. You will support our engineering team with general duties on site as well as learning towards a qualification.

You will be trained to a very high standard in areas such as;

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Pneumatic Engineering
  • Knowledge of CNC machinery and PLC’s would be an advantage
  • Fault finding skills
  • Adjustment and setting of machines to a good operating standard

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The apprenticeship consists of:

  • Advanced Standard Apprenticeship- Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician
  • Functional Skills in English and Maths (Level 1/2) where applicable

All aspects of your training will be delivered on-site with your employer, and you will have regular site visits every six to eight weeks from your designated assessor, who will monitor your progress throughout your apprenticeship programme.

You will achieve a qualification in Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician Level 3 Standard.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Potential for the candidate to progress through the company and gain experience within all sectors. The main aim is to bring somebody into the team and for them to develop and become a key team member.

Things to consider

• Have suitable transport to & from the workplace. • This role is demanding both physically and mentally and is factory based. There may be a requirement to work shifts and physical wellbeing and fitness is paramount. • Full UK Driving license would be preferable
