What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Gain basic knowledge of Property / CAR insurance.
  • Learn the fundamentals of first party claims handling.
  • Assume responsibility for claims on specific accounts and report to colleagues.
  • Learn about property treaty reinsurance.
  • Learn how to use internal systems and reporting tools.
  • Learn about the importance of accurate reserving.
  • Gain insight into underwriting of property and CAR risks.
  • Network internally and externally with service providers, including a short term work experience with a loss adjuster.
  • Learn about the importance of compliance matters when handling claims.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will work towards your:

  • Insurance Practitioner Level 3 Apprenticeship.
  • Certificate in Insurance (Cert CII).
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths (if required).

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

The career progression will be determined towards the end of the apprenticeship.
