What will the apprentice be doing?

Over 18 months, our Purchasing Apprenticeship will equip you for all things problem solving, negotiation and an ability to build great relationships in a fast-paced environment.

We’ll show you in depth how we ensure cost, quality and risk are effectively managed; ensuring our suppliers have capacity and capability to reliably deliver our needs today and in the future.

Over the course of the programme, you’ll complete six month rotations in different areas of the Purchasing function, which will show you everything we do here. You’ll learn from a huge range of experts to develop an all-round understanding of both the operational and strategic element of a buying role, for any one of our JCB product or component business areas. As we introduce new products in to our portfolio, you will support the purchasing activity to ensure deadlines are met and quality is consistent.

Your training will be geared towards getting you up to speed with everything you need to thrive once you take the reins for real. You’ll work on real-life projects and contribute to the general flow of ideas in our fast-paced area of the business, by practically understanding commercial reviews, purchasing project management and so much more.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
