What will the apprentice be doing?

To provide support to the administration team / Practice Manager including tasks such as: o Processes – Registrations, inputting details on the clinical system and requesting records from PCSE o Shred confidential correspondence in accordance with practice protocol o Process deductions – ensuring that patients leaving the practice are deducted appropriately and paper records are returned to PCSE within the contract timeframes o Answer telephone calls and either deal with the query or pass on to the appropriate person o Initiate calls to resolve outstanding actions o Use a multitude of IT Packages, write letters or emails, create proposal, performance financial processes. o Record & Document Production produce accurate records. o Ensure that all coding is completed from new patient forms and contact patients if information is not completed o Manage all incoming private work and either send to our outsourcing provider or internally to the secretarial team depending on the protocol o Appointment and clinic changes · To complete all associated administration in an accurate and timely manner · To provide outstanding customer care always, both internally and externally · To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures. · To work in accordance with written protocols.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Business Administrator Level 3 Standard.

20% of the apprentice's working week has to be allocated to off the Job training.

Training for the role will be provided by the employer with the support of the training provider.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Having gained a year’s worth of work experience and a qualification as a Business Administrator, you would be able to work as an Administrator in the Primary Care sector or in another similar setting.
