What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Preparing, cooking, presenting food 
  • Making sure that food is served promptly 
  • Monitoring food production, ensuring quality 
  • Assuring good hygiene and health & safety practice 
  • Assisting with menu planning 
  • Taking product deliveries
  • Managing food stocks 
  • Keeping accurate records 

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • You will work towards the Level 2 Commis Chef Apprenticeship Standard
  • Functional Skills in maths and English (where not already achieved)
  • This apprenticeship involves day release to college one day a week at Hopwood Hall College (Rochdale Campus)
  • Training will be provided in the work place and you will also be assigned a work-based tutor from Hopwood Hall College who will support you with your apprenticeship

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
