What will the apprentice be doing?

You will gain invaluable insight and experience of working within a classroom setting and will develop the Knowledge, skills, and behaviours to become a Teaching Assistant.


Provide teaching support in small groups and where necessary be assigned to individuals to aid the teacher.


Liaise with the tutor to understand the objectives of each session,
assist the tutor with observations and monitoring of the progress of the individual.


Keep up to date written records for supported pupils.


Promote positive behaviour patterns, raise self-esteem, and improve independent working in the individual to assist their education and growth.


Depending on the environment there may be a specific focus on certain curriculum areas.


It is an interesting, varied position that gives the valuable opportunities of gaining experience in a professional setting working with young people and colleagues.


You will find out about the teaching paths that are available and the hope would be that this apprenticeship will lead you onto your next step on the career ladder.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will achieve the Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.

You will have a Mentor who will support you with one to one teaching and learning.

To include 20% off the job training.

In-house training will be given to support specifics of the role.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

The Teaching Assistat qualification will enable you to work within any educational setting.
