What will the apprentice be doing?

Your duties will include:

  • Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly teaching space and resources to promote a stimulating and safe learning environment
  • Support pupils in accessing learning activities as directed and guided by the class teacher to enable pupils’ progress towards their targets
  • Be aware of and support difference to ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop
  • Assist in the implementation of individual education programmes for pupils to fully participate in activities
  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety and confidentiality, reporting all concerns to a member of the Senior Leadership Team to ensure pupils’ wellbeing
  • Support the class teacher by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities
  • Support the class teacher with maintaining good order and discipline among pupils, managing behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment.
  • Observe pupil performance and pass observations on to the class teacher and assist the class teacher with maintaining student records
  • Use ICT skills to advance pupils’ learning
  • Undertake any other relevant duties given by the class teacher

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will be studying towards a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard.

Your training will be delivered once a month, online in the workplace.
