What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Design, implement and test engineering solutions in accordance with Thales procedures
  • Attendance at project reviews
  • Creation of functional and physical system architectures
  • Preparation of engineering specifications, interface control documents & test documentation

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Electro-mechanical Engineer Level 6.

As a Hardware Engineering Apprentice, you will be studying towards an IET accredited BEng in Electromechanical Engineering at Warwick University School of Engineering. This 5-year programme will include electrical, mechanical, and general engineering, providing an excellent foundation for a multi-disciplinary engineer. Teaching will be delivered via a blended learning model, with 6 weeks on campus per year.

There will also be the opportunity to apply for professional registration with the Institute of Engineering and Technology as an Incorporated Engineer at the end of the programme.

3 A Levels (AAA-BBB) including Mathematics and either Physics, Engineering or Electronics, or: BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma (DDD-DDM) in an engineering discipline to include the two Mathematics units, 'Calculus to Solve Engineering Problems' and 'Further Engineering Mathematics, plus: 5 GCSES grade A-C (5-9) including English and Mathematics
