What will the apprentice be doing?

Dealing with enquiries from staff, parents, carers, contractors, and visitors in a professional manner.

  • Answer the telephone in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner, record and pass on messages as appropriate.
  • Use the internal systems including our text message, online payments, and Arbor systems.
  • Maintain the stock levels of administration resources.
  • Provide information and data as appropriate and conduct routine ICT tasks within the office.
  • Ensure office filing systems are organised and updated.
  • Assist with arrangements for school events as required.
  • Maintain the shared calendar and update the school information as directed.
  • Inform the relevant members of staff when deliveries arrive in reception.
  • Distribute internal and external post.
  • Production of ID cards for staff and pupils.
  • When necessary, liaise with transport services and taxi suppliers to arrange pupil transport.
  • Provide administration assistance as required by the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Use all items of office equipment, such as the photocopier competently and keep up to date with developments and changes to such equipment.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Level 3 Business Admin Apprenticeship Standard.

Fortnightly attendance to Leicester College Freemans Park Campus or City Skills Centre will be required throughout the course of the program.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Temporary fixed term 18-month contract could become a full time role on successful completion of the apprenticeship program.
