You will be based at our head office in Stoke-on-Trent where you will become part of our existing IT team. You will answer queries via telephone, email and our helpdesk system, whilst also responding to hardware issues on devices such as PC’s and printers around the offices and factory itself.

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Providing technical support to internal IT users.
  • Working with the IT team on projects.
  • Providing 1st line support to users, by telephone and email, such as resetting passwords.
  • Use various methods to monitor our computers and network, check backups and other services, and to otherwise ensure that our IT systems are maintained in peak condition.
  • Diagnosing and solving faults in hardware such as printers, phones and wireless controllers.
  • Provide technical support related to software, hardware and connectivity issues on all mobile devices for end users.
  • Support users with the set-up of new or replacement workstations and mobile handsets.
  • Work with other team members to monitor and respond appropriately to support calls, via telephone, email and in person.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Estio apprenticeship training programmes are delivered virtually by our fully qualified and industry experienced training team. Using their expert knowledge, we’ve purposefully built our programmes around the real-world use of modern technology, so that the skills we create can be directly applied in the workplace.

Throughout the apprenticeship learners receive coaching, help and guidance from a dedicated team who are there to ensure they get the most from their work experience.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 3 Information Communications Technician standard, with training in how to:

  • Efficiently operate and control your ICT infrastructure – physical or virtual hardware, software, network services and data storage.
  • Use infrastructure management tools to automate the provisioning, testing, deployment and monitoring of infrastructure components.
  • Prioritise systems support tasks and monitor and maintaining system performance.
  • Maintain regulatory, legal and professional standards.
  • Support the information systems needs for your business.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

The opportunity to secure permanent employment is available to the Apprentice, following successful completion of the apprenticeship and good performance. Additionally, there will be opportunities to undertake further apprenticeship training as the company heavily invests in the development and training of its staff.
