What will the apprentice be doing?
Your early days in the role will mainly be focused on learning what we do, how we do it and why. You will spend time in the various departments learning how they operate.
The main duties of your role as warehouse, conversion and distribution apprentice will include operating various pieces of equipment such as:
- Forklift trucks
- Narrow aisle VNAs
- Heat wrappers
- Embossing machines
You will be expected to comply with all Health and Safety requirements, developing an in-depth knowledge of company Health and Safety procedures and efficiently identifying and solving risks within processes to improve safe working.
You will receive full training in all areas of operating machinery. The role is varied, and we are looking for an individual who will be competent in all departments within the work environment.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the qualification achieved will be a Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative Standard, including a Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing.
The apprentice will be given sufficient time to complete the ‘off-the-job’ requirement of the apprenticeship during their normal working hours.
Throughout your time as an apprentice, you will be supported by both Fedrigoni Papers and BPIF Training. You will be assigned a training coordinator to ensure that you have the best training available. Training requirements will be discussed at the point of employment to suit your own development and the business needs. Most training and studying will be a combination of site-based and remote delivery.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the learner will be offered a role to reflect their qualification and experience.
