What will the apprentice be doing?
As part of a small overall business wide team you will need to be agile and cover various tasks to help ensure the business grows profitability.
Fundamentally working to support Purchasing and Operations, you will develop a strong understanding of a complex supply chain.
Purchasing & Operations – at the heart of our success is the ability to source, stock and supply product from supplier to customer in the most effective way possible. This requires our business to operate in a systematic and organised fashion, following process and procedure to ensure stock is ordered, booked in and booked out effectively in a timely manner. The role will help support these vital functions and therefore provide an excellent grass root understanding of the supply chain process.
To achieve the above objectives there are numerous daily activities which need to be undertaken to ensure the smooth running of a high transaction business, detailed below are the focus points:
- Chasing Delivery date/time from suppliers
- Booking goods received onto the system
- Allocating and printing orders required to be picked
- Confirming picked orders and generating the correct dispatch paperwork
- Run replenishment reports
- Collate data for management reports
It will be essential that you build a strong relationship with Team members as you will be working across all functions to be the support that enables the business to function and grow, so your ability to be organised, disciplined, detail focused, self-motivated and accurate is essential.
There will be many other activities which you will be included on, some, but not all are listed below:
- Processing purchase orders
- Processing customer orders
- Telephone work both customer and supplier
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship standard:
- Functional Skills Level 2 in English and maths if required
- End-Point Assessment (EPA): Knowledge Test; Professional Discussion; Presentation/Q&A
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
As a growing business we are looking for the candidate to join Diverse and be a part of a dynamic team, understanding how a business operates so giving them a real insight into business and providing a strong platform for future roles. We fully expect the correct person to stay with Diverse and grow into an integral part of the team.
Additional training will be assessed through a monthly review with myself in which we will examine skills and any gaps and then provide support (internal or external) to ensure these are covered. This will be an ongoing process.
